How does Credit Hacking work?

What is Credit Hacking?

Credit hacking is using certain credit cards strategically to earn the maximum points/miles. By optimizing personal and business spending, you can then use these points/miles for valuable travel benefits.

It only works if you follow our 5 Laws of Credit Hacking

The 5 laws of credit hacking are our 5 Non-negotiables if you decide to credit hacker for travel. Credit hacking is all about discipline, knowledge & strategy. If you decide you not abide all 5 laws of credit hacking, we have a saying here that you would be CREDIT LACKING, not CREDIT HACKING. We preach financial responsibilty here. Don’t let the debt own you!

The 5 Laws of Credit Hacking

1. Pay off your credit card bill in full.

If you don’t pay off your credit card bills in full, the banks will charge interest on your debt. The points and miles you earn will be offset by the interest charges that banks are making on you!

2. Don't ever spend more than you have.

It's important to avoid spending more than you have to maintain financial stability, prevent debt accumulation, and secure your long-term financial well-being.

3. Use credit cards for all of your purchases

With the opportunity to earn miles and points on your everyday spending and applying law #1 in paying your credit card bill in full, you will want to put all of your spending on your credit card. I charge my mortgage, tithing to church, groceries, utilities and everything else with my credit card to maximize point earnings!

4. Meet your credit card's sign-up bonus requirements

A large part of earning miles & points is taking advantage of large sign up bonuses, which change throughout the year. Its ideal to get them at their peak, but we don’t always know. Ex. The Chase Sapphire preferred card (one of our favorite cards) has it’s sign up bonus fluctuate from 50,000 to 100,000 points!

5. Keep your old credit lines open as long as possible

One of the factors of a good credit score is average age of credit. The higher average age, the higher your credit score. Although we incentivize applying for a few “once in a while” cards because of big signup bonuses, we generally teach you to have a long term-portfolio with your cards.

Are you ready to earn 415,000 points (worth about $8,300.00 in Travel) in one year?
